Greetings

Hello  there!

A bit of background: My philosophical "expertise" is amateur at best (mostly reading texts in an undergrad honors seminar), but I've had a strong interest for some time now.  I double majored in the neighbouring fields of Mathematics and Theology, hence the ambiguous choice of user name, and am currently working on a PhD in Mathematics (my field of interest is mathematical Logic).

I came here from Feser's blog (heard the news of Scott's death- I offer my prayers and condolences;  I was never a commenter, but his posts were clear, insightful, and helpful to the point that even us lurkers wanted to hear from him).  I currently lean towards the A-T school of thought, but am also friendly towards aspects of other schools and hope to learn from the rest of you here.

It is precisely “values” that are the powerless and threadbare mask of the objectification of beings, an objectification that has become flat and devoid of background. No one dies for mere values.
