Let the Scotists resources be many and plentiful!

Primary Sources:

Questions on the Metaphysics of Aristotle vol I
Questions on the Metaphysics of Aristotle vol II

The other major source for Scotus’ metaphysics. Scotus takes considerable latitude in his choice of subject using Aristotle’s views and those of later commentators as a spring-board to discuss this own answers to their problematics.

John Duns Scotus: The Examined Report of the Paris Lecture: Reportatio I & II

Another important though thematically disorganised work - much of Scotus general metaphysics (Formal Distinction haecceities et cetera), can be found here embedded in a theological context. Note: for some reason this is awkward to get hold of through Amazon but still freely onsale from the publishers.

A Treatise on God as First Principle

This short text, a parallel to Thomas' Compendium of Theology, contains in condensed form nearly all of Scotus’ thesis on Natural Theology. Includes important of the Cosmological Argument, the nature of Causation, Divine Simplicity, the deduction of the Divine Attributes and the Ontological Argument (Scotus’ famous 'coloration' of said argument).

God and Creatures: The Quodlibetal Questions

Deals mainly with theological matters.

A long and very much recommended introductory article on Scotus metaphysics. There’s other items of Scotist, not to mention general Scholastic interest to be had on King’s web-page too.

‘What’s Wrong with the Ontotheological Error?’ - Marilyn Adams

A long lecture transcript defending Thomas and Scotus from trendy Continental criticisms of ‘making God into an idol’, as well as setting out some of the core differences and agreements in those two philosophers approach to ontological questions.

Daniel P Horan – Postmodernity and Univocity: A Critical Account of Radical Orthodoxy and John Duns Scotus

This book takes the critique of the Neoscholastic idea that Scotus was a Nominalist-Platonist-pantheistic-theist-personalist into the present day by examine (thoroughly debunking) the Radical Orthodox movement's claim that Scotus Univocal account of predication lead to the eclipse of Classical metaphysics.

Antonie Vos –- The Philosophy of John Duns Scotus

An impressive account of Scotus achievements in ontology and logic as viewed from an Analytical perspective. As near as one may presently get to a project outline for Analytical-Scotism.

Richard Cross - Duns Scotus (Great Medieval Thinkers)

A short Analytically orientated introduction Scotus’ work. I would not recommend this as one’s starting point: for one thing the author misunderstands several important points such as the distinction between essentially and accidentally causal series, and for another is disturbingly selective in which areas of the Subtle Doctor’s philosophy (the reader will look in vain for elucidation on the nature of a haecceity).

Cross’ has authored several other books on Scotus, one on his theory of Time, another on his account of the Divine Nature and a third on his theory of intuitive cognition. I have no ideas as to their quality – for what it’s worth it should be stressed that Cross’ is in no way hostile to Scotus ideas or desirues to misrepresent him, so perhaps we should give them the benefit of the doubt.

The Physics of Duns Scotus: The Scientific Context of a Theological Vision

Duns Scotus's Theory of Cognition

Duns Scotus on God

Other Material:

IS THE PROOF OF GOD'S EXISTENCE BY JOHN DUNS SCOTUS VALID?

A debate between Lukáš Novák, of whom many of us are already familer, and Petr Dvoøák over the virtues of Duns Scotus famous Modal argument for an Uncaused or as they say in the debate, Prime Cause.
