The philosopher Hilary Putnam has died. He was a great, relentlessly inventive philosopher who modeled well his commitment to following the argument where it leads. Martha Nussbaum has a nice obit in HuffPo.
I've been considering looking at Putnam's work with regards to Platonism. Based on what I've heard of him he seemed like a brilliant philosopher. May he now rest in peace.
