1. What subjects will the books be on?

Scholastic philosophy, but we're open to non-scholastic books.

2. Will you provide copies of the excerpts, essays, and books?

Most of the time.

3. How much do I have to know about scholastic philosophy to join?

See the poll here for examples of books we might start with.

4. Can I suggest a text for the group?

Sure. Just PM me, or post about it in the reading group subforum.

5. What should I do if I have other questions about the reading group?

Ask in this thread.

6. When do we start?

To be announced.

7. How do I sign up?

PM me the email address you want to use, and I'll invite you to the group email.

8. Is there anything else I should know?

We're planning to hold monthly voice chats via Discord (unless someone knows of better software).

1) Do I have to show up for the voice chats?
2) What if I'm an atheist?
3) How long will I have to read each book?

9. Do I have to show up for the voice chats?

No.

It really helps if you do, though. It's much easier to get people talking when they're in a room together.

10. What if I'm an atheist?

If you're asking whether we're disallowing atheists or something like that, we're not.

11. How long will I have to read each book?

Two months, usually.

If anybody else wants to sign up, now is the time. We start "the two month clock" tomorrow.
