Cheap PPF vs premium – is there really that much of a difference?

So I've been shopping around for paint protection film and I'm honestly shocked at the price range I'm seeing – one place quoted me 4,500 AED for a full front-end wrap while another asked for nearly 11,000 AED for what looks like the same coverage on paper, and I'm struggling to understand what justifies that massive difference. I know the obvious answer is that the cheaper place is probably using lower quality film, but I'm trying to figure out whether the premium options are actually worth the extra money or if I'm just paying for brand name and marketing hype. From what I've been reading, the main differences seem to come down to the quality of the raw materials, with cheaper films often using PVC or lower-grade polyurethane that yellows and cracks after a couple of years in our intense sun, whereas premium brands use genuine aliphatic TPU that stays clear and flexible for much longer. I've also seen that the cheaper films tend to have a lower optical clarity, which means they can have an orange peel texture or a slightly hazy appearance that's noticeable on lighter paint colors, while the top-tier stuff is practically invisible once it's installed. Another big factor seems to be the adhesive quality, because if the glue isn't designed for our climate it can bake onto the paint over time and make removal a nightmare, whereas premium films use advanced adhesives that bond securely but can still be removed without damaging the clearcoat underneath. I was looking at a comparison that explained Key differences between cheap and premium PPF brands in the UAE, which broke down the technical aspects pretty clearly, but I'd still like to hear from people who've actually gone with either option and can tell me whether they regret their choice. Has anyone here gone with a cheaper PPF and ended up replacing it sooner than expected, or gone with premium and felt like it was overkill for their daily driver? I'm particularly keen to know whether the self-healing properties are actually noticeable in practice, and whether the hydrophobic topcoat on premium films really makes the car significantly easier to clean. Any honest feedback from people who've been through this would be massively helpful because I don't want to waste money on either extreme.
