Joseph Pearce biographies

Is anyone else here a fan of Joseph Pearce' literary studies? I know his popular stuff, the Literary Converts book for instance, can be a touch shallow, and the and the less said about film induced interpretations of Tolkien the better, but I remember finding his biographies highly entertaining and even uplifting in places (few figures in English literature have the capacity to make me laugh as much Roy Campbell). I read most of them years ago and retain quite a fondness for them.

I was considering checking out his biography of Alexander Solzhenitsyn, A Soul in Exile. Unfortunately though Foyles didn't stock it and I was forced to leave after a certain point anyway due to a sudden fit of John Gray induced nausea. Does anyone here have the book and if so do you have any thoughts on it?
