Re: Moved a few questions

Really? That sucks, because I emailed Dr. Rizzi asking about modern scientific objections to the 1st way and he reccomended that I read his book to understand why they fail, but since I'm not in the states this is a problem

If you want to order it and have it sent to my address, I can probably send it along to you. If you'd like to try that, send me a PM with your own address first so I can check on the availability of shipping. (Depending on the results, I may just send you my own copy. I can replace it pretty much whenever I want.)

Re: Moved a few questions

@Scott,
Sorry for the long response. I was studying for an upcoming physics test which I recently finished.
Thank you very much for your offer. I'll look up the shipping cost and get back you soon.

Sounds like a plan. And I think I will just send you my copy (since it's like new and easy to replace if and when I want to reread the book myself), so don't worry about buying your own.

Re: Moved a few questions

@Scott
I just found out my mom is in the USA and I asked her to get Dr. Rizzi's book and she said yes. Thanks very much for your offer but now you can keep your copy of the book. If I have any questions on the book may I ask you for clarifications and help?

Re: Moved a few questions

Sure. It's been a while since I read it but I have it at hand and can refer to it as needed.

Re: Moved a few questions

Hey, everyone Happy New Year and I hope this year brings all of us closer to God philosophically.
To start of the new year with a question, with regards to Aquinas's First Way since the casual series we are talking in about is in esse instead of in fieri if it was discovered that there was fundamental particle that all matter was reduced to such as Higgs Bosson or the Super h-atom that was the source holding up the universe due to being the last thing in which matter can be divided and everything would this be able to serve as a natural terminator to a vertical causal series and thus invalidate the 1st way due to is capability?
Again have a blessed new year.

Re: Moved a few questions

@Alexander,
Yes this is basically what I'm asking with regards to the fundamental particle and 1st Way.

Re: Moved a few questions

With regards to the potency and act in relation to the 1st way does the fact that all material things due to being compositions of form and matter(which is just potency,thus making them have act and potency) does this entail that any material being due to this would need to have a cause/explanation that accounts for its existence as matter is just potency without form and form without matter has no casual power even if it was eternal?
