My layperson's offshore observation is cultural identity based. In other words, it's a matter of the heart that the British nation preserve its heritage rather than dissolve it into the EU melting pot where stewed cultural and formerly sovereign values are patently being eschewed and supplanted with some contrivance of a continental hierarchy wholly un-British. To this end I laud Brexit and stand by with knitted brow waiting for other nations to follow suit. I would think such successive spin-offs will only occur if the Brits succeed at restoring their global presence in the sovereign, fiscal and economic sense. I don't doubt they will.
